Hello! I’m Ted Kessler. I grew up in the Bay Area of California and attended University of California, Santa Cruz for 2 years and then University of Oregon for 2 years to graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Digital Arts in 2015. I currently live in Portland, OR.

Through part of high school and college (2011-2014) I worked here and there as a graphic designer, web designer, and product photographer.

After graduating in 2015, I started working with HeartFlow, a revolutionary company in the personalized medicine space leveraging cutting-edge technology and machine learning to help doctors treat patients with coronary artery disease. Both of my positions at HeartFlow (Case Analyst and Product Investigator) were deeply analytical, focused on high-quality output, and deadline-driven. I also helped develop process improvement projects with Lean methodologies across multiple teams, developed special reporting tools/methods to improve my team’s work, developed training materials, and mentored new hires.

This was fascinating and important work, but after a while I found myself wanting to get back to the art/design world. In 2021 I decided to switch careers and completed a UI/UX design bootcamp program. I started working as a UI/UX designer shortly after and am currently a full-time Lead UI/UX Designer.

Outside of work, I enjoy building things, making and listening to music, spending time with friends, and hanging out with my loud cat Cleo. Check out some of my non-UX work here.
